Australia’s
Wine List of the Year
Awards 2010
An exemplary and diverse array of establishments have taken out all the top honours, highlighting the increasing importance and value of great wine lists.
The team at Gourmet Traveller WINE is delighted to showcase more than 300 restaurants and the sommeliers throughout Australia who have gone the extra mile to create superlative lists, both big and small, that are all worthy of your attention.
The judging panel consists of some of Australia’s finest wine and food writers – Peter Bourne, Maryann Egan, Ken Gargett, Nigel Hopkins, Ray Jordan, Tony Love, Graeme Phillip’s, Jeni Port, Louise Radman, Nick Ryan, Nick Stock and Kim West – representing each state. Most of the panel have been long-term judges of the awards.
E’cco sommelier, Alan Hunter, has put his exceptional talent and palate to the test in creating the current wine lists for both e’cco, scoring the restaurants first ever 3 glass rating, and e’ccobar, which scored an impressive 2 glass rating in its debut entry. Congratulations to Alan for the fantastic accolades.

E’cco
Owner/chef Philip Johnson's much-loved bastion of bistro simplicity offers a solid and sizeable wine list that taps into a good mix of the eclectic and the classic. It reaches well above the humility of the average bistro list and those willing to spend are amply rewarded.
E’ccobar
This is one of the most exciting wine bars in the country. There are strong lists by the glass and halves. An array of cutting-edge Aussie's; a diverse selection of international classics; and everyday wines. Other features include a monthly wine focus, tasting servings and wine flights.
