StreetSmart 2008 - A Record Year raises $260,000

This year's program has helped raise over $260,000 helping to fund  63 grassroots programs in your local communities. 

This was made up of around $215,000 from restaurant diners and $45,000 from other sources, including $20,000 from the Front of House All Stars Dinner. Six of Melbourne’s most outstanding restaurateurs and managers put on an evening to remember as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, generously donating all proceeds to StreetSmart.  Luke Stringer, owner of Oyster Little Bourke, came up with the event to showcase the best in front of house, matching signature dishes from their restaurants with their favourite wines. The sold out event raised over $20,000, (including a charity auction).

We also have $10,000 of matched funding from the Kirby Foundation not included in final total.   All up this is 20% up on 2007 when close to $224,000 was collected. The Grand Total to date (since 2003) is now $730,000 - an outstanding effort!
