Cooking for Haiti - Guest Chef Dinner, Fins Restaurant, Monday 22nd February 2010

Date: Monday 22 February, 2010
Time: 7.00pm
Cost: $125.00

FINS Restaurant will host a special fundraising event to help raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake on Monday February 22.

Four of the region’s most renowned chefs - Greg Pieper (Bamboo Restaurant and Lounge Bar), Philip Johnson (E’cco Bistro), Tony Percuoco (Ristorante Fellini) and Steven Snow (Fins) will cook their signature dishes for guests with 100 per cent of ticket sales going to the Haiti cause.

The menu will be complemented by wines from three of the best wineries - Curly Flat, Craggy Range and Rockford Wines, with an auction of donated memorabilia and collectibles to be hosted by ABC Radio personality Simon Marnie.

Fins chef and owner Steven Snow said the benefit dinner will raise awareness and money for the devastating tragedy the recent earthquake has caused.

“We’ve all been touched by the magnitude of the disaster in Haiti and we feel this is a very important cause to get behind and help in any way we can,” he said.

“It will be a great night out, with guests being able to sample dishes from some of our region’s most renowned chefs. We will be presenting a degustation menu to our guests with each dish specially chosen to complement each other,”

“The entire amount raised on the night inclusive of ticket prices and money raised in the auction will be donated directly to the cause with staff members from all four restaurants generously donating their time for free.”

The Haiti Earthquake Benefit Dinner will include a variety of canapés and four-courses, one course from each of the guest chefs. Entire proceeds from the night, including ticket costs and funds raised through the auction will be donated to the cause.

Ristorante Fellini chef and owner Tony Percuoco, said the evening will be a great way to contribute to helping people in need in Haiti.

“I am looking forward to cooking alongside a group of extremely talented chefs for this great cause,” he said.

“The dinner promises to be an amazing fusion of different cooking styles and techniques coming together to present a wonderful menu for guests to enjoy.
